Goldberg makes announcement about WWE retirement on SEC Nation ahead of Georgia-Florida
Goldberg, WWE star and former Georgia Bulldog, appeared on SEC Nation in Week 10. The wrestling legend played for Georgia as a defensive tackle in the 1980s before breaking into wrestling.
The Bulldogs have a big matchup in Week 10 against the Florida Gators. While previewing the matchup, Goldberg dropped the news that he will fight in a retirement match in 2025.

“In 2025, Goldberg is having his retirement match,” the legend said. “I’ve got a couple of months to get ready, no date no time, so we’ll see.”
Goldberg is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. The wrestler last picked up a win in the WWE in 2021 against Bobby Lashley. Goldberg thanked WWE Executives Nick Khan, Chris Legentil and Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque for giving him the opportunity to have one final match.
One of the company’s most popular and accomplished wrestlers, Goldberg has 1 World Heavyweight Championship and 2 WWE Universal Championships on his resume. Goldberg was active in wrestling from 1997-2004, and then again from 2016 until his retirement match next year.
While at Georgia, Goldberg racked up 348 tackles, with 121 of those coming in his senior season. Thanks to his impressive college career, the athlete was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the 11th round of the 1990 NFL Draft. Goldberg played in 14 NFL cages and collected 11 tackles.
Goldberg’s former team will take on the Gators in Jacksonville in Week 10. The Bulldogs are looking to improve to 7-1 on the season.
