James Cook expected to miss Peach Bowl following family tragedy

Georgia running back James Cook is expected to miss the Peach Bowl as he spends time with his family in the coming days following his father’s death earlier this week.
Cook and his brother, Dalvin, the Minnesota Vikings running back, are each expected to return to their hometown of Miami soon. The Bulldogs are set to play Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl at noon on Friday.
Cook is one of the Bulldogs’ dynamic and versatile offensive players, especially in the passing game out of the backfield. Cook is the teams second-leading rusher with 303 yards on 45 carries in eight games, and also the Bulldogs’ No. 4 receiver, with 16 catches for 225 yards.
He leads all of Georgia’s backs with a 6.7 yards per carry rushing average and as five touchdowns, three on the ground and two receiving. Cook accounted for the Bulldogs’ longest touchdown play this season, an 82-yard reception against Alabama, and also scored on a 44-yard run.
Cook in high school starred at Miami Central High. Since he arrived in Athens as a 4-star recruiting prospect, he has scored nine touchdowns on 446 yards receiving and 775 yards rushing.

Source says that #Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is flying now back home to Miami due to his father James Cook dying at the age of 46. Cook will not play in Sunday’s finale at Detroit. Source said James Cook had been diabetic. Condolences to Dalvin’s family.
