Jamon Dumas-Johnson was a key player on the rise for Georgia entering the 2023 season. Unfortunately, an injury cut his season short, and he’s now reportedly opting to test the transfer portal this offseason.

That news is per a report from Matt Zenitz with 247 Sports who says Dumas-Johnson is expected to enter the portal. Dumas-Johnson was on the preseason watchlist for the Bednarik Award, given annually the best defensive player in college football.

Dumas-Johnson delivered 70 total tackles, 9 TFL and 4 sacks as the second-leading tackler on Georgia’s 2022 national title-winning team. He had 34 tackles, 5.5 TFL and 3.5 sacks this season but was injured in the win over Missouri with his season ended early.

Coming out of high school, Dumas-Johnson was a 4-star recruit and the No. 22 LB in the country for the 2021 recruiting class. Across 3 seasons with the Bulldogs, he has 125 career tackles, 17 TFL, 9.5 sacks, 1 interception, 6 pass breakups and a forced fumble.
