It’s true what they say, film don’t lie.

Following JT Daniels’ decision to transfer from USC to Georgia, former Bulldog quarterback Hutson Mason took the time to jump to the tape of the redshirt sophomore’s game and Mason clearly came away impressed.

If you haven’t followed Daniels’ journey, he was formerly rated as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle but instead of waiting for his senior season of high school, the southern California native reclassified as a 2018 prospect and signed with USC. Despite not arriving on campus until the summer, Daniels won the starting quarterback job at USC as a true freshman following Sam Darnold’s early departure for the NFL.

During his true freshman season, Daniels completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 2,672 yards with 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Not outstanding numbers by any means but more impressive when you factor in he should have been a senior in high school that season and not playing at the major college level.

As anyone that has watched Daniels play can tell you, which now includes Mason, there is a lot to like about Georgia’s new quarterback. Mason shared the following clip of Daniels on Friday with the comment, “the more tape I watch of him the more impressed I become.”
