While Nick Chubb’s father doesn’t expect his son to be able to play on Saturday, coach Kirby Smart hasn’t ruled him out.
โNick Chubb remains to be a game-time decision,โ Smart said on “The Paul Finebaum Showโ Friday afternoon on UGA campus. โNick has improved in the last probably 48 hours immensely. Weโre going to go out tomorrow and warm up and see how he does. If the medical staff clears him, then heโs going to play. Thatโs where we are with it.โ
Smart told that Finebaum “weโll find out in warm ups where heโs at. Surprisingly, I thought early in the week it was very doubtful, I didnโt know if heโd abe able to, but yesterday he was able to do a lot GPS-wise (used to determine speed), he ran better and had some good speed. We felt a lot better about it after yesterday, then weโll find out today. Obviously, it will be a medical decision. Sometimes reports come from all places. This is just an issue of weโre going to find out at gametime.โ
