There were 2 key receivers missing in Georgia’s 48-7 blowout win over UT-Martin Saturday night.

Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint did not play in the game, and head coach Kirby Smart explained why 2 of his best receivers were out following the game.

Smart said in his postgame press conference that McConkey is dealing with a back injury and that Rosemy-Jacksaint missed the game due to an “internal issue.” Though he did not confirm when either receiver will be back, he said that he hopes to get them back soon.

McConkey was an integral piece in Georgia’s national championship-winning offense a season ago, recording 762 yards and 7 touchdowns on the year. Likewise, Rosemy-Jacksaint was also a key component, with 337 yards and 2 touchdowns on the year.

Though Georgia was fine without the pair on Saturday, getting them back as soon as possible will be a top priority.

Smart also confirmed that running back Daijun Edwards probably “could have played” Saturday, but Edwards did not see any snaps.
