Georgia suffered a host of injuries in the win over Kentucky on Saturday, including four defensive starters, and then star safety Richard LeCounte, who is still in the hospital following a serious motorcycle accident on Saturday evening.

Coach Kirby Smart updated the injury situation on Monday afternoon entering the Florida game on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida.

Defensive lineman Julian Rochester (knee) and LeCounte are out for Saturday, Smart said. Defensive lineman Jordan Davis (elbow) is not ruled out, but day to day.

“We’re hopeful he’s able to play,” Smart said. “We’ll find out more as the week goes on.”

Other updates included safety Lewis Cine (ankle), and LB Quay Walker, who are both expected to play, and DB Tyrique Stevenson is fine.

Smart said several players have already filled in at safety.

On offense, lineman Ben Cleveland should be fine, Smart said, WR George Pickens and RB Kenny McIntosh are going to continue to work and Smart is hopeful they can do what they did last week. Matt Landers should also be good to go.

“They’re certainly further out from their injuries and we’re hopeful they’re able to play, but can’t tell you anymore than that right now because I don’t know a lot more, they’re rehabbing every day,” he said.
