Paul Finebaum turned some heads Monday afternoon to start his show when he began to promote upcoming guests.

About 5 minutes into the show as Finebaum promoted upcoming guests, he delivered this one-liner:

“Rece Davis and College GameDay, they’re heading to Athens,” Finebaum said. “Maybe David Pollack ought to be the guest picker there.”

The popular pregame show will be at Georgia on Saturday ahead of the big showdown against Ole Miss.

A couple previous guest pickers for Georgia College GameDay visits have been Jeff Foxworthy and Luke Bryan.

Pollack, of course, was among the ESPN cuts earlier this year as the former Georgia standout is no longer on College GameDay.

Pollack was an All-American defender for Georgia during the early 2000s. He was a 3-time All-American for the Bulldogs and a 2-time recipient of the SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award. Pollack began work with ESPN’s College GameDay during the fall of 2011.

Pollack has remained active in the college football media scene, with appearances on “The Dan Patrick Show” and “Always College Football.”

Pollack has not revealed what’s next, but has talked with leaders in college football, and authors since the departure from ESPN.

He’s also taken on a larger role as an assistant football coach on the North Oconee High School football staff, outside of Athens, where his son Nicolas is a freshman.
