On the one hand, Georgia has been in this position before, and plenty of current players know it.

One of them is RB D’Andre Swift, who said he remembers the loss at LSU last year, and how the team can back back from the double overtime loss to South Carolina.

“Everything we want to accomplish is still ahead of us,” Swift said, according to 960 The Ref. “We got to stay as a team, stay as a family.”

Swift had 23 carries for 113 yards and a touchdown, a 4.9 yard average. He also had 2 catches for 8 yards. Georgia was 9-for-18 on third down conversions, and 0-for-1 on fourth down. Georgia controlled the clock with a 36:04 to 23:56 edge in time of possession.

Swift scored in the second quarter, and Georgia outscored the Gamecocks 7-0 in the second half, but a late missed field goal attempt proved to be the difference.

“I ain’t gonna say no loss is good, but this is kind of the fuel we kind of needed to get this team on track,” Swift said. “We need to play better ball.”

Georgia returns to action next week against Kentucky in Athens, before an off week ahead of the Florida game in Jacksonville on Nov. 2.
