Otis Reese was committed to Michigan for the last 20 months.

But that didn’t matter on Wednesday.

The 4-star Leesburg, Georgia linebacker announced that he was signing with the in-state Bulldogs instead of Michigan.

It didn’t come as a complete surprise after Reese didn’t sign with the Wolverines back in December having taken several visits to Athens since he gave his verbal commitment to Jim Harbaugh.

That’s yet another big-time get for Kirby Smart, who began the day by landing 5-star cornerback Tyson Campbell.

With Reese, Georgia is getting the No. 5 outside linebacker and the No. 87 player overall in the 2018 class. The former Michigan commit is the 11th top-100 recruit to roll with the Dawgs.

It’s unknown if the 6-4, 204-pound linebacker will stick with the position or eventually make a switch to the defensive backfield.

Georgia is still in pursuit of the No. 1 overall class, which currently belongs to Ohio State after the Buckeyes added a 5-star recruit of their own in top-ranked offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere. As it stands, the Dawgs have the No. 2 overall class and No. 1 class in the SEC.
