On Wednesday evening, it was reported that Georgia QB Jake Fromm suffered a broken hand while boating on Monday.

That is bad news for the Bulldogs, but as more details have emerged, it appears it could have been much, much worse.

Per 247Sports, the fracture was to Fromm’s non-throwing hand, and the report states that the rising sophomore quarterback won’t miss any time this summer:

A source close to the situation tells Dawgs247 that the injury occurred on Monday when Fromm was sitting on the back of a boat while a friend was partaking in some form of watersports. Something went wrong with the rope toeing his friend and the apparatus that the rope was connected to came down and smacked Fromm on the hand.

Dawgs247 has confirmed via two sources that Fromm won’t miss any time due to the injury and is expected to be with his team for 7-on-7 work for the rest of the summer. He’s expected to wear a splint on that hand for the next few weeks and shouldn’t be at all limited when preseason camp begins at the beginning of August.

First and foremost, the good news is that the injury isn’t to his throwing hand. Secondly, it’s good for the Dawgs that he won’t miss any time.

However, Fromm needs to be more careful around water moving forward, it sounds like, as he has already snagged himself with a fishing hook this offseason, too.
