A Georgia assistant is reportedly leaving for an opportunity in the MAC.

Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports reports, per sources, that Buffalo is hiring Rod Ojong as its safeties coach. Ojong was on Kirby Smart’s staff as a defensive quality control assistant.

Ojong joined the UGA staff in January 2020. He has been in coaching since 2012 when he was a student assistant linebackers coach at Monmouth. Since then he has coached at Lindsey Wilson College (outside linebackers and assistant strength and conditioning, 2013), West Georgia (strong safeties, 2014), Memphis (defensive graduate assistant, 2015), North Carolina (defensive grad assistant, 2016-17), Austin Peay (cornerbacks, 2018) and Furman (cornerbacks, 2019).

Buffalo recently Maurice Linguist as its new head coach after Lance Leipold left to take the Kansas head coaching job.
