Earlier Wednesday, reports surfaced that Kirby Smart and Georgia were hiring Mississippi State assistant Scott Fountain. Fountain coached with UGA in an off-the-field role in 2017, and it appears that’s he returning for another role after leaving for MSU last month.

But Fountain isn’t the only coach Smart is hiring on National Signing Day.

According to FootballScoop, Smart and Georgia are poaching Vanderbilt WRs coach Cortez Hankton. He’s coached at Vanderbilt since 2015 and Dartmouth prior to his stop in Nashville. It’s unclear what capacity Hankton will serve in at this time.

While Georgia is on a roll for National Signing Day, Smart continues to take what he wants, both in recruiting and assistant coaching hires.

The Bulldogs’ staff has certainly seen turnover this off-season. LBs coach Kevin Sherrer left for Tennessee, while special teams coach Shane Beamer left for Oklahoma.
