Stetson Bennett uses Heisman platform to shout out Georgia’s scout team

Stetson Bennett made sure to give Georgia scout teamers some love while on the national stage this weekend.
While participating in a Q&A before the Heisman Trophy ceremony, Bennett shouted out UGA’s scout team, recognizing those players’ contributions to the Bulldogs’ undefeated regular season and SEC Championship.
Jordan D. Hill of Dawgs247 shares that Bennett noted the Dawgs wouldn’t be the same No. 1 squad without the help from the scout team.
Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett makes a point to get one more statement in before the Q&A ends.
Bennett: “As a walk-on, I think we have the best scout team in America on offense and on defense … I don’t think we’d be the team we were without them”

At this point, everyone knows Bennett’s story of beginning his UGA career as a walk-on. In 2017, his first season with the program, he drew praise as the scout team quarterback while taking a redshirt. The 2017 Bulldogs won an SEC Championship and CFP semifinal Rose Bowl game.
Who would have known 5 years later, he would be 2 games away from making Georgia a back-to-back national champion?
