It is no secret that former Georgia kicker Rodrigo Blankenship and wrestling icon Ric Flair are legends in Athens, Georgia.

Georgia fans will love to hear that the two have struck up a friendship in recent years, as well.

Jim Ayello of the Indianapolis Star dove deeper into the relationship, and discovered Flair was even willing to rep Blankenship’s “Hot Rod” gear.

“Heโ€™s got a pretty big following, and I was like, โ€˜Hey would you mind doing me a favor and helping me promote the merchandise?” Blankenship said. “And he was all for it.โ€

According to Ayello, the two met at the “Nature Boy”‘s 70th birthday party, and have had a good relationship since then.

Blankenship is Georgia’s all-time leading scorer as a kicker, currently playing out his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts, and Flair is a 71-year old wrestling legend.

Sound like a match made in heaven? Georgia fans certainly think so.
