Central Michigan RB lashes out at Kentucky’s defense, calls out Benny Snell

Kentucky received some fresh bulletin-board material ahead of its game on Saturday against Central Michigan.
Jonathan Ward, a running back for Central Michigan, was an equal opportunity trash talker this week when he took on not only Kentucky RB Benny Snell, but the defense, too, in comments to Evan Petzold of CM Life. Ward, a unanimous All-MAC first-team preseason selection, is looking to prove himself alongside some of the best running backs in the country.
Ward rushed for 1,017 yards and 10 touchdowns last season in the Mid-American Conference, while Snell was third in the SEC with 1,333 yards and 19 touchdowns. Those numbers weren’t impressive in Ward’s eyes, as he said, “I don’t know him. I don’t think there’s anything too special.”
These are the types of comments to remember after the whistle on Saturday when chatter between teams is most likely to happen, especially after this.
The game is set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Central Michigan RB Jonathan Ward on Kentucky's defense: "They are a pretty aggressive defense and all fly to the ball. I'm not seeing anything really special. We just have to come out and play to the best of our abilities."
