Devin Leary is looking to return to form in his first season with Kentucky this fall. Expectations surrounding the quarterback are rising, and he landed on another preseason watch list recently.

This time, Leary was included on the preseason watch list for the 2023 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. That award annually recognizes the top senior or upperclassman QB set to graduate. Leary also appeared as a semifinalist for the award last season before getting injured.

The preseason watch list, semifinalists, finalists and eventual winner of the Golden Arm Award are selected by the distinguished Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Selection Committee. In addition to this list, Leary is on preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award, the Davey O’Brien Award and the Comeback Player of the Year.

Leary set career-high numbers during the 2021 season with over 3,400 yards and 35 passing touchdowns for NC State. He also threw for 1,265 yards last season with the Wolfpack starting 5-1 before getting injured.

With Liam Coen returning to lead the Wildcat offense, there is optimism that the unit can improve on the 20.4 points per game mark from a season ago. Leary figures to play a big role in achieving those goals.
