Former Kentucky DB traded by Dallas Cowboys
Former Kentucky defensive back Kelvin Joseph was traded by the Dallas Cowboys to the Miami Dolphins for defensive back Noah Igbinoghene, as the swap was announced Tuesday in multiple reports.
The Wildcats and LSU Tigers product was originally selected by Dallas in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and saw action in a total of 16 games for the team with one start in 2022. Joseph saw the majority of his time, 66 percent of his total snaps, on special teams. He took the field for 14 percent of the squad’s snaps on the defensive side of the ball.

Over the past two seasons with Jerry Jones’ team, Joseph has recorded 36 combined tackles (30 solo), 4 passes defended and 1 fumble recovery. In his time at Kentucky, he registered 25 combined tackles (14 solo), 4 interceptions and 1 pass defended.
His college career, split between LSU and Kentucky, saw Joseph make 37 combined tackles (25 solo), 12 assists, 4 interceptions and 2 passes defended. How he fares moving on to Miami will be something to keep an eye on.
Igbinoghene was the No. 30 overall pick in 2020 and has seen time in 32 contests with 5 starts. Miami declined his fifth-year option in the spring, so he will hit the free agent market in March.
