John Calipari and the No. 10 Kentucky Wildcats will start their 2021-22 campaign on Tuesday night in the Champions Classic against a familiar foe — Mike Krzyzewski and the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils.
This is Coach K’s last season, but it seems Calipari is hoping maybe the legendary Duke coach will reconsider.
Previewing Tuesday night’s matchup in New York City, Calipari said he hopes “this isn’t the last time we play them. I hope it’s one more”:
Asked about his thoughts on what might be his last matchup with Coach K… Calipari says Coach K has made him a better coach, sharper. A lot of competition in recruiting of late. Mutual respect. Cal adds "I hope this isn't the last time we play them. I hope it's one more."

Indeed, Duke and Kentucky have both been powerhouses in recent years under Calipari and Krzyzewki. Of course, both teams had awful years in 2020-21.
Which team will get this season started with a big win? We’ll find out Tuesday night on ESPN!
