Kentucky turned up its defensive activity and repeatedly gashed Arkansas with a Rob Dillingham-Zvonimir Ivisic screen-and-roll game on Saturday afternoon to erase a second-half deficit and pull away late for a 111-102 victory.

After weeks of maddeningly inconsistent play, Kentucky has now won three straight. And Saturday’s latest offensive explosion marks the sixth time this season the Wildcats have topped 100 points in a game — a high-water mark for a John Calipari-coached Kentucky team.

Led by Khalif Battle, who finished with 34 points and eight boards with 17 makes from the free throw line, Arkansas rolled into Rupp Arena like a team determined to play loose and free. Off a three-point home loss to Vanderbilt, Arkansas gave the Wildcats everything it could muster.

Kentucky had a five-point lead at halftime, but that margin was erased in the first five minutes of the second half. Battle scored eight points during a 14-8 stretch that gave the Razorbacks a slight lead. Kentucky took the lead back, then watched Arkansas surge back ahead.

A 20-5 run from Arkansas in just under four minutes completely flipped the game and threatened to send the Cats to an embarrassing home loss. With 6:56 to play, Arkansas led by seven.

Kentucky then turned its offense over to Dillingham and rolled over the Razorbacks.

Over the final seven minutes of the game, Kentucky scored 30 points and hit 10 of its final 12 shots. Dillingham either scored or assisted on 19 of those 30 points. His two-man game from the top of the floor with Ivisic was lethal.

Dillingham scored at the cup off ball screens. When Arkansas tried to trap him, he dumped it over the top of the defense to Ivisic, who had 10 of his 12 points in the second half. When Arkansas tried to deny Dillingham the ball, Kentucky just flipped it around and knocked down shots. Justin Edwards hit a baseline jumper with just under two minutes to play that put Kentucky up eight, then came back down the floor 21 seconds later to splash a 3.

At the other end, Kentucky forced five Arkansas turnovers in the last seven minutes. In less than four minutes after taking an 88-81 lead, Arkansas gave up 17 points on the defensive end, missed five consecutive shots at its own end, and turned it over on three other possessions.

Rupp Arena started to roar. And Arkansas couldn’t halt the momentum.

The victory moved Calipari into sole possession of fourth place on the SEC’s all-time regular season conference wins leaderboard. It also marked the first time since 2016 that Kentucky has scored 100 or more points in back-to-back home games.

Kentucky (21-8, 11-5 SEC) sits fourth in the league standings. It’ll host Vanderbilt on Wednesday.
