With Kentucky moving into postseason mode, a couple of Wildcats are choosing to move on and find a change of scenery.

QB Nik Scalzo announced that even after 3 years at Kentucky, he is entering the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility remaining. He thanked his teammates and coaches and even added a hashtag “Cats by 90.” This is the second time this year that Scalzo has put his name in the transfer portal. But he pulled it out in January.

Another Kentucky player is reportedly headed for the transfer portal in sophomore reserve offensive lineman Jake Pope, according to Derek Terry of 247Sports. Pope redshirted in 2019 and has not seen any action since the sophomore arrived at Kentucky from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Scalzo is also from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and came out of high school as a 3-star prospect. He suffered a torn ACL 2 years ago, the same season he took a redshirt.

Scalzo was somewhat known earlier in his career after he was featured on in the third season of the Netflix show, “QB1: Beyond the Lights,” Scalzo was on the show alongside Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler and Maryland quarterback Lance Legendre.
