Kentucky’s young and promising defense will lose some depth in 2020 with an announcement from freshman linebacker Tra Wilkins, who said he’s leaving the program.

Wilkins said in a statement on Twitter that he would enter the transfer portal and play for another school. The 6-foot 215-pound freshman from Stone Mountain, Georgia. He reportedly chose Kentucky over Louisville, Arkansas and South Carolina, and was ranked the nation’s No. 46 inside linebacker by 247sports. He had 28 offers coming out of high school, according to 247Sports.

Wilkins played in two games this season, against Toledo and Tennessee-Martin, and made a total of three tackles.
