Ramon Jefferson saw his 2022 season start off on a wrong note after tearing his ACL against Miami of Ohio. However, Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones reported that the Sam Houston State grad transfer would look to rehab quickly to get back on the field this season or, if that’s not possible, to appeal to the NCAA for a medical hardship waiver and an extra year of eligibility.

Jefferson on Friday underwent surgery to repair the damage in his knee. Following the procedure, he posted an update on Twitter with UK HealthCare’s Dr. Darren Johnson, which you can see below.

Jefferson totaled just over 1900 yards in 2 seasons with the Bearkats after transferring from Garden City Community College.

During the spring 2021 season, his 752 yards ranked 6th among FCS teams, while adding 7 touchdowns for the eventual national champions. In the fall, he totaled 1,155 yards and found the end zone 13 times.
