Liam Coen, Kentucky OC, candidate for position with Big Ten power, per report
Liam Coen left the Kentucky Wildcats for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. The coach coordinated the Rams’ offense for one season before returning to Kentucky in the same role in 2023. Now, the coach could be leaving Kentucky again.
On Saturday, it was reported that Coen is set to interview with the Chicago Bears for their vacant OC job. The coach is also expected to be a candidate for the Ohio State OC job, per KSR’s Matt Jones.
I think Liam Coen is serious candidate for the Bears and Ohio St OC job. He has big options
But it was also made clear to the UK staff he wouldn’t be a One and Done on his second trip to Lexington
People in LeX think he will stay, but if he doesn’t, I think folks will be upset

However, Jones also points out that Coen “made clear” to Kentucky staff he wouldn’t be a “one-and-done” this time around. Still, the belief is that Coen will be in contention for a job with the Buckeyes.
In 2023, Brian Hartline had the OC role for the Buckeyes. However, “major changes” are expected within the Buckeyes’ staff and new OC hire is expected. Hartline is considered to be safe, however.
The Coen-led Wildcats finished with the No. 58 scoring offense in the nation last season.
