Mark Stoops runs down refs, looks like he makes contact with one, following UK's tough loss to Ole Miss
Mark Stoops’ wallet probably just got lighter immediately following Kentucky’s loss to Ole Miss on Saturday.
No, Stoops doesn’t get docked pay for losing in disappointing fashion — Saturday was Kentucky’s home opener and the Wildcats were favored entering the matchup, but SEC coaches can face fines for making contact with referees.
That’s exactly what happened following Kentucky’s 42-42 overtime loss to Ole Miss on Saturday after a questionable pass interference call gave the Rebels a first down at the 2-yard line.
Ole Miss scored the tying touchdown two plays later and won it with the PAT.

Well that was a good call. Hate for games to be decided by penalties but it was a good call. Did everyone, including me, over rate ky and stoops? Or did they just fold under the pressure of uncommon expectations. Still think they are dangerous team.
Yes, that was a no-brainer. I don’t think we are over-rated. Just need to get it together. MSU will give us more practice in defending the pass next week. That way when we get to Knoxville we will be ready to intercept some passes.
I think Kentucky has a solid team. They’re just suffering from what we at Tennessee have experienced the last decade. It’s a cliche but the boys in blue need to learn how to win. Can’t fold after a bad call like they did at Auburn and give it to them on their own 30 when you’re coming back, can’t celebrate early like that run today. Nothing comes easy in this league.
Even if we find a new creative way to lose to the Vols again, it should be a good match. I’m looking forward to that one. Vols are looking pretty good this year. JG seems to have overcome is tendency to go off on his own. He’s a very accurate passer for the most part.
Kentucky will be lucky to stay within 28 of the Vols
Yo stop it. That’s A corch post.
Ole Miss had to overcome two really bad calls as well. The first being the TD by Snoop Connor on the 1 YL. The second being the fair catch where Elijah Moore never signaled for.
Hey Duffy…you need to do your job as an editor. Please take the time to leave a comment about this horrible job…” That’s exactly what happened following Kentucky’s 42-42 overtime loss”. 42-42 is a tie.
Stoops is the most overrated coaches in CFB and the most overpayed!!! He is the Joe Biden of the SEC and Fake News loves him…. He was hired by a baffoon and gets a free pass bc if his fluff schedule up until this year. Auburn beat them by 15, and AUB is way worse than I thought. I’m still waiting for Stoops to get another raise!!
Kentucky is beating themselves.take away turnovers last two games.and cats 2-0.but it is what it is.like a comment read earlier in this league nothing comes easy.they got to stop making dumb boneheaded plays and they got to be somebody on campus up in Lexington that can kick a doggone ball thru uprights.this is ridiculous two years in a row of missing extra points.it’s safe to say cats not winning sec but they are a good team that can beat just about anyone on right day which could make it interesting and they could play spoiler for dawgs or gators.
It was all around one of the most poorly officiated game I have seen, but that doesn’t excuse stoops’ behavior
Instead of running down the refs, he should have ran down AJ Rose. A “ look at me” play that cost Kentucky the game. So disgusted…
Yes, exactly Southern Man. Rose was trying to be be a showboat like Snell was and it cost them. I have never seen any discipline on any of these teams since he has been at UK.
Kentucky gonna Kentucky
