Mark Stoops and Kentucky suffered a massively disappointing loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday in Lexington, falling 24-21 at Kroger Field. It ended a 26-game SEC losing streak for the Commodores.

The Wildcats entered the game ranked 24th in the College Football Playoff rankings. After starting the year 4-0, they have dropped 4 of their last 6, having peaked at No. 7 before their downswing. That’s led to plenty of criticism of his coordinators, especially toward offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello and offensive line coach Zach Yenser.

Stoops was to the point when asked if he’d make changes to his staff during the season:

On Kentucky’s radio broadcast immediately following the press conference, Stoops provided further context into his answer.

“They said like, right now. That’s not what I’m going to do, no, no,” Stoops said. “I don’t want to say anything right now because people take it and run with it. If I say maybe, they’ll say I am.”

It certainly does make sense for Stoops to not make any changes now, especially with 2 regular-season games plus a bowl remaining. What happens after that, though, remains to be seen.
