LSU's momentum on the recruiting trail continues as Tigers land commitment from 4-star Louisiana receiver
LSU’s momentum on the recruiting trail continues to build as the Tigers have just landed a commitment from one of the top overall prospects from New Orleans.
The Tigers already had one of the top-ranked recruiting classes for the 2022 cycle and the class just got better as four-star receiver AJ Johnson of Newman High School just announced his commitment to Ed Orgeron’s program.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound New Orleans native is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 33 receiver in the nation, Louisiana’s No. 12 overall prospect and a top 250 overall recruit nationally in the 2022 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Johnson commits to LSU over scholarship offers from Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Florida State and Miami, among others. LSU currently has the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class for the 2022 recruiting cycle and the No. 2 class in the SEC.
Interestingly enough, Johnson’s quarterback at Isidore Newman is five-star 2023 quarterback prospect, Arch Manning.
While Manning, who is uncommitted at this time, isn’t going to make his college decision based on what any of his high school teammates do, landing Johnson certainly isn’t going to hurt the Tigers when it comes to recruiting the next QB prospect in the Manning family.

The author didn’t mention Bo Bordelon or his brother… or his get the gat mother. Yep I’m sure of it, Newman is a tigah feeder school… manning will come to the red stick and win multiple ships. Geaux tigahs.
Poor bama
We have built a wall around Louisiana and they are paying for it.
So do these kids get a free transfer when the Da Coach gets canned for NCAA violations? Just wondering.
Da Coach owns your team. I understand you wanting him gone.
What NCAA violations?
If O would get fired and Saban die GA might have a chance.
Come On Man, seriously? Alabama just had the highest recruiting class of all time, how are they paying for it? There’s enough good players to go around and if your an elite program you will get your share of
the best.
Hilarious..you feeling sorry for Alabama. Good luck with that wall, as if we live or die with Louisiana players alone.
Nothing’s really changed in recruiting under Coach Whiteboots. Not much different really than his mentor, Leslie.
He does fine with instate skill players and some defensive recruits but when it comes to the offensive line, he’s as garbage as his predecessor and still no match for “the man” to the east.
Now Farmer Fran is reduced to taking quitter hole linebackers who can’t cut it in the ACC. Don’t lie to yourselves people, Mike Jones is not a game changer, not even close. Mike Jones is what happens when your head coach doesn’t have the chops to fill out his class.
What was it Dacoacheaux said? Oh yeah, I remember. “We gone beat day hass in recruitin’. We gone best day hass every time we see ’em”.
And here we are now. 55 to 17. The greatest season of all time. And a
top 100 wide receiver and defensive end poached from YawYaw on early signing day no less. Sad.
When Whiteboots starts yattin’ like a Chalmette Memaw, it never really ages well, now does it.
Idiot.
You still read his blither? Stop reading it, and don’t respond to him. There’s an old saying, “Don’t feed the trolls”.
Good point. My error.

Won’t need the 12 pack
