Brian Kelly has put together his first coaching staff as the head coach at LSU.

His new defensive coordinator is Matt House, who spent the past 3 seasons as the Kansas City Chiefs’ linebackers coach, winning a Super Bowl with the franchise.

On Wednesday, Kelly and his new hires met with the media, and Kelly said he was drawn to House due to his experience in the SEC:

House served as Kentucky’s defensive coordinator from 2017 to 2018. He was also the Wildcats’ inside linebackers coach in 2016. House was FIU’s DC in 2015 and served in the same position at Pitt in 2013 and 2014.

LSU always has plenty of talent on defense. We’ll see if House can get that unit to start producing more in 2022 and beyond.
