Brian Kelly explains why Jayden Daniels didn't return to the game in the win over Auburn

Brian Kelly didn’t want to take a chance with Jayden Daniels after the LSU suffered a knee injury against Auburn.

Daniels was 8-for-20 passing for 80 yards, and had 16 carries for 59 yards with a touchdown. Garrett Nussmeier replaced him and went 2-for-6 passing for 5 yards.

Kelly said there was no structural damage, but Daniels was in pain and limping after what the LSU radio broadcast described as a “knee to knee” shot.

“I made the decision to take him out, he didn’t come out on his own,” Kelly said after the game.

Jayden Daniels doesn’t have any structural damage in his knee, but with him limping, Brian Kelly made the decision to take him out. Kelly said he should be ok.
