Brian Kelly reaction: College football fans, media react to LSU’s new reported coach
By SDS Staff
Published:
Brian Kelly will reportedly be the next head coach at LSU as the craziest college football coaching carousel in recent memory somehow gets crazier.
As one would expect, the college football community had lots to say about the Notre Dame head coach leaving South Bend for the SEC West. Kelly’s resume has many media members calling it a great hire. Some fans and media members are questioning how Kelly will adjust to the culture of LSU football and Baton Rouge. Kelly’s past scandals also come up with his name in the news.
Here’s a small sample of what’s being said on Twitter:
Brian Kelly is one of the best coaches I’ve ever been around. He wins everywhere he goes and will do so quickly at LSU. Total game changer.
This is a GRAND SLAM for @LSUfootball and Scott Woodward. https://t.co/kk5qYuRbCd

Brian Kelly is already the winningest coach at ND
His legacy was secured in South Bend
What's left for a Hall of Fame Coach? To win a title
He's seen first hand that in order to win a title in today's CFB environment you need a different tier of players.
He'll get that at LSU

Brian Kelly is the second man in as many days to leave what was considered a Yankees job and a power for another.

Brian Kelly leaving Notre Dame to coach LSU: Sources
via @TheAthletic ; it’s gonna happen and I for one really like this hire. Brian’s at his BEST right now and he’ll bring @LSUfootball an offensive expertise thats been needed there for a while. https://t.co/BUaiHQjdHl

Brian Kelly is so underrated. He’s had a top five program at Notre Dame the last five years with recruiting restrictions and he’s gonna kill it with LSU’s advantages.

While the other 49 states use common law, Louisiana's legal system is unique in that it operates under civil law derived from Napoleonic Code. This might actually significantly impact the legality of Brian Kelly executing his players.

Lincoln Riley ran away from the SEC West.
Brian Kelly ran toward it. #Respect

Lincoln said no to the SEC. Brian Kelly said "hell yes." I'd say LSU got the better end of that deal.

Oh god Brian Kelly telling Gridiron Clubs they’re gonna win The Right Way and all of them saying “Oh no ya’ain’t” in a very menacing way https://t.co/lGMjtkqXUJ

Brian Kelly would rather slug it out in the SEC than endure even the mere threat of the Coastal Division someday.

Nick Saban is 2-0 against Brian Kelly with a combined score of 73-28.
LSU fans might want to slow down a little bit before they start counting all their upcoming national titles.
As long as Saban is coaching, the SEC goes through Tuscaloosa.

Don’t let Brian Kelly getting the LSU job distract you from the fact that he took No. 8 Notre Dame into the Big House in 2019 and walked away on the losing end of a 45-14 game.
