Brian Kelly recently took the time to address one of the most pressing non-football questions that has surrounded the LSU Tigers this season — uniforms.
What the Tigers have been suiting up in lately has garnered some negative response because of the sheer number of times LSU has worn alternate uniforms, in addition to the fact the team has worn gold and purple jerseys in back-t0-back weeks instead of the traditional home whites.
Kelly made clear during his postgame press conference following the 37-17 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners that the Tigers do not make their decisions week to week on what they take the field in. It is determined ahead of the season.
He made it equally clear that he could not care much less than he does about the subject.
“There is only one call. It’s our leadership council,” Kelly said.
There are 26 representatives who represent all of the classes who make the decisions.
“They decide at the start of the season what uniforms they want to wear,” Kelly continued. “They have different combinations that they can wear… I don’t really care what they wear as long as the uniforms are prescribed by the university and we wear them accordingly.”
Perhaps the bowl game uniforms will be satisfactory enough as LSU now looks to the postseason.
