Brian Kelly tried to hire Kentucky’s Brad White as LSU defensive coordinator, but the Wildcat assistant opted to stay at UK. Now, Kelly is reportedly trying to land one of White’s former Kentucky colleagues.

FootballScoop’s John Brice is reporting that Kelly is targeting Matt House for the LSU defensive coordinator position. House is currently on the Kansas City Chiefs’ staff coaching linebackers. House was Kentucky’s defensive coordinator for the 2017 and ’18 seasons. UK won 10 games in the 2018 season.

If House is hired to Kelly’s LSU staff, the Tigers will likely to have wait a few weeks for his arrival in Baton Rouge. The NFL regular season ends in early January, but the Chiefs are likely to make the postseason.

FootballScoop’s article notes that House was previously courted by Josh Heupel to return to college on Tennessee’s staff.
