As Brian Kelly continues to build out his initial staff at LSU, one SEC defensive coordinator could be headed down to join him in Baton Rouge.

According to FootballScoop, Kentucky DC Brad White has been targeted by Kelly for the job with the Tigers.

“Sources said White is in Baton Rouge and a deal could come together quickly if White believes he would be a fit on Kelly’s staff,” FootballScoop’s Zach Barnett reports.

White has been in Lexington since the 2018 season and was originally hired by Mark Stoops as outside linebackers coach. In 2019, he added defensive coordinator duties. Under White’s guidance, J.J. Weaver was named a freshman All-SEC pick in 2020 and totaled a team-high 6.5 sacks in 2021.

Prior to joining Kentucky, White spent 6 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, first as a defensive quality control coach and later assistant linebackers coach. He then served as outside linebackers coach from 2015-2017.
