CFB fans react to LSU being ranked No. 2 behind Ohio State
Since LSU’s win over Auburn, Associated Press voters have ranked the Tigers No. 1 in the country.
The College Football Playoff selection committee, however, sees things differently. The first CFP Top 25 of the season has Ohio State at No. 1 ahead of LSU at No. 2.
The college football fan reactions varied. There were plenty of fans – Tigers and non-Tigers fans – arguing that Ed Orgeron’s squad deserved to be No. 1 since it has more impressive wins than the Buckeyes. Others pointed out that the loser of Saturday’s Alabama-LSU showdown is unlikely to make it into the field of four Playoff teams.
Here’s a small sample of what people are saying on Twitter right now:
LSU plays and beats 3 top ten teams, gets put at No. 2 for the playoffs
Ohio State has played No. 25 and 13, gets put at No. 1. Playoff Polls just need to admit they hate LSU— Donavan Donahe (@donavan_donahe) November 6, 2019

I knew they’d put LSU at No. 2.

Whoever lose between LSU Nd alabama will get knocked out the playoffs. Which mean Clemson can sneak back in. The same will go for Ohio and Penn state

I probably would have had LSU ahead of Ohio State but the eye test and stats are certainly there for OSU. Ultimately doesn’t matter though with LSU v. Alabama looming ahead

you can tell they tired of the SEC shit bc moving LSU & Bama down this week pretty much knocks whoever loses outta the playoffs now if you left them at 1&2 it still left that chance of the loser getting in

LSU should’ve been #1. Penn State isn’t even in the same league as the other three. #CFP#SECFB

Seriously don’t understand how LSU is #2 ? They have more quality wins than Ohio state !

Prove the committee wrong on Saturday.
LSU IS the #1 team in the country#GeauxTigers #CFBPlayoff

Committee member just said that they value SOS the most. If that’s the truth LSU is the undisputed number one??! So biased man. https://t.co/oR1hutarPQ

How is Ohio St #1? LSU has by far played better than anyone with better wins but hey it’s only the first one.

Buckeyes are being setup. This will be a one week ranking. The winner of LSU /Bama will jump the Bucks unfortunately.

Ohio State has played the best football in the country but LSU has the best profile. The winner of Saturday’s SEC West battle will takeover the No. 1 spot next week and Clemson will slide back into the Top 4. https://t.co/VeCXzJQmS7

LSU and Ohio State. Who has OSU played ? Two teams in the top 25 ? LSU played Auburn, Florida, Alabama this weekend, and most likely UGA in the ship. OSU has a cakewalk schedule and they deserve literally nothing lmfao
