When the LSU Tigers kick off the 2020 season on Saturday afternoon against Mississippi State, they’ll do so as reigning national champions.

However, they’ll also do so without nearly every key piece to that perfect 2019 squad, including QB Joe Burrow, who won last year’s Heisman Trophy.

On Saturday afternoon, Myles Brennan will get his first start at LSU. On ESPN’s College GameDay, it was revealed what Burrow said about his former backup:

“He’s not afraid to rip it,” Burrow said, according to ESPN’s Gene Wojciechowski. “He’s going to make a lot of big plays.”

Brennan’s arm strength has indeed drawn praise ahead of the 2020 season. He’ll also have returning WR Terrace Marshall Jr. to get the ball to.

Will he lead the Tigers to victory over Mississippi State? Tune into CBS at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time to find out!
