Deion Sanders has reached into the SEC to make his latest hire at Colorado.

Multiple reports have suggested, and LSU’s Corey Phillips, who was associate director of player personnel, has confirmed, that Phillips is leaving LSU. Sanders is reportedly hiring Phillips to be Colorado’s director of player personnel.

“Leaving is never easy when you truly pour yourself into what it is you love to do,” Phillips wrote on social media. “The love I have for the dudes in that locker room will never change and the people on this staff are special. … But I will forever hold this place near and dear. Thankful for my time at LSU and excited for what God has for the future.”

Before LSU, Phillips was the director of scouting at NC State. He was previously a high school coach in the Nashville, Tennessee area, and began his college personnel career with Derek Mason at Vanderbilt. Phillips played at Austin Peay.
