Ed Orgeron is in elite company with LSU's latest win over No. 7 Florida
It’s well-documented that Ed Orgeron wasn’t LSU’s first choice to replace Les Miles back in 2016. Everyone at LSU will tell you that they’re happy the way things ultimately worked out, and for good reason(s).
With LSU’s latest win, Orgeron is in elite company. The Tigers knocked off No. 7 Florida 42-28, giving Coach O seven wins over AP top-10 teams since 2016. That’s one more than Dabo Swinney and just two shy of Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.
Orgeron should get at least one more opportunity in the regular season to notch win No. 8 over an AP top-10 team. Time will tell if more opportunities present themselves. Orgeron’s overall record at LSU since 2016 is 31-9 and a 17-7 mark in SEC play.
I took a ton of heat this week for having Ed Orgeron in my Top 5 list of CFB coaches in 2019.
He continues to find a way to get @LSUfootball up for big games.
Now just has to find a way to do it vs Alabama. pic.twitter.com/KjeiY8AanJ
