LSU is on the other side of a bye week, a 31-17 loss at Ole Miss on Oct. 23 in its rear view mirror.

And it wonโ€™t get easier in the Tigersโ€™ next game: theyโ€™ll head to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to take on No. 3 Alabama, also coming off an open week following a 52-24 win over Tennessee.

Ed Orgeronโ€™s team is showing as a big underdog as they prepare to travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium in an attempt to stun the Crimson Tide and put an end to their College Football Playoff hopes. Thatโ€™s on top of the news that quarterback Myles Brennan, who suffered an injury prior to the season, will enter the transfer portal and finish his college career elsewhere as Orgeron and the program are set to part ways at yearโ€™s end.

Orgeron, for his part, wasnโ€™t shy about his assessment of his team during his Monday media availability, calling the Tigers โ€œtoo predictableโ€.

โ€œWe need to have more of a variety on first down. Weโ€™re giving them the same looks over and over again,โ€ he said. โ€œThereโ€™s not much disguiseโ€ฆThis part of the season you just canโ€™t put a lot of new stuff in, but we put in a couple of wrinkles to make it tough.โ€

Regarding the defense, Orgeron lamented the lack of adjustments on that side of the ball, saying that it was a primary focus during the open week and thus far during game week.

โ€œWeโ€™re really holding them to being in the right place in the right time,โ€ he added.
