While rumors surrounding LSU’s head coaching job continue to swirl around, the program may stay in-house.

After an impressive 54-39 victory at Texas A&M, interim head coach Ed Orgeron met with LSU athletic director Joe Alleva on Friday morning, according to The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger.

The meeting was reportedly about Orgeron’s potential as the team’s full-time head coach and he would have likely laid out his long-term plans for the program and named some of the main targets for his possible staff.

Likely at the top of his list for offensive coordinator would be Alabama’s Lane Kiffin, says Dellenger. While Kiffin could get some head coaching offers of his own, he and Orgeron have worked together in the past and are supposedly good friends.

While Dellenger states that no specific details of the meeting have been shared, Orgeron is believed to be a serious candidate to take over the Tigers.
