If you follow Spencer Ware or the Indianapolis Colts, you might have noticed the team placed the former LSU running back on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list, which prevents him from playing in 2019. Ware has taken to social media to say that he will play in 2019.

“I am NOT done for season,” Ware wrote on Twitter. “When things happen you have to adjust and treat accordingly. I’m going to play THIS YEAR, so there are things that need to be done before that happens that’ll put me in the best case scenario. MINOR,MINOR, MINOR setback because of timing.”

Following Ware’s tweet, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that the ex-Tiger is seeking an injury settlement, which would give him his release from the Colts. If he signs with another team as a free agent, he would be able to play in 2019. Rapoport reports that Ware will have ankle surgery and need 5-6 weeks for recovery, presumably the minor setbacks Ware tweeted about.

Ware was originally drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 2013. He spent the last four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and signed with the Colts in April. For his career, Ware has logged 340 carries for 1,580 yards and 11 touchdowns as well as 59 catches for 676 yards and two touchdowns.
