Former LSU WR Jontre Kirklin is returning to the boot. Kirklin’s strong showing in the XFL landed him a workout with the New Orleans Saints, which has resulted in a contract with the club.

This year, Kirklin played in 5 games for the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks, ranking first on the team with 16.9 yards/reception and second with 4 receiving touchdowns to go along with 15 receptions, 253 receiving yards.

In Week 4 of the XFL spring season, Kirklin had a memorable 49-yard passing touchdown against Orlando. In the 2022 Texas Bowl, Kirklin played quarterback for LSU.

Kirklin used his COVID-19 waiver to return to LSU in 2021 for a 5th season with the Tigers. He appeared in 57 games, contributing on both sides of the ball and special teams.

The Roughnecks will retain Kirklin’s rights if he returns to the XFL.
