Harold Perkins has yet to play his first game as an LSU Tiger, but he’s already made a change. The former 5-star recruit has a new jersey number.
Perkins was sporting No. 10, but Sunday night in New Orleans, he’s wearing No. 40, according to Shea Dixon of On3.
A notable jersey change for #LSU.
Former 5-star LB Harold Perkins is now No. 40 (was No. 10).
I seem to remember a pretty good linebacker who wore that number not too long ago.

Perkins was a huge National Signing Day get for Brian Kelly and his staff. The Cy Park (Cypress, Texas) standout was ranked the No. 8 prospect overall in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite. An Under Armour All-American and Polynesian Bowl selection, Perkins chose the Tigers over scholarship offers from 32 other schools.
Perkins’ 5-star rating has many LSU fans hoping to see him make an immediate impact. The Tigers and Florida State kickoff momentarily (6:30 p.m. CT/7:30 p.m. ET, ABC) from the Superdome.
