It’s official, Ja’Marr Chase won’t ever suit up for the Tigers again.

News of the star receiver’s decision was leaked over the weekend but it wasn’t until Monday afternoon that Chase made the news official.

In the statement issued below, Chase reveals that the decision was a “difficult” one that came after some emotional conversations with his family.

The 2019 Biletnikoff Award winner and First-Team All-SEC selection had 84 catches for 1,780 yards and caught 20 touchdowns last season for the Tigers. During the national championship game, Chase caught nine passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

Chase is the third LSU player to opt-out for the coming season joining defensive back Kary Vincent and defensive lineman Neil Farrell.
