As the minutes tick away and the NFL Trade Deadline is upon us, former LSU star Jamal Adams is among the most talked about trade subjects in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys are most mentioned as a possible landing spot for the current New York Jets safety.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that, “I’m told the Jets are asking for more than a 1st rounder (as they should) and that a deal right is not close or imminent. It could happen, but there isn’t momentum for it right now. 72 minutes to go.”

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Adam Schefter added that ESPN’s Ryan Clark said Adams would like to go home to Texas and play for the Cowboys.

Adams is from Carollton, Texas, and was taken No. 6 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.

His NFL.com draft profile said, “Adams even in LSU’s always-loaded secondary got on the field a significant amount as a true freshman (two starts, 66 tackles, five break-ups, 10 special teams tackles). When given the chance to start as a sophomore, Adams garnered second-team All-SEC honors by making 67 stops, four interceptions and six pass break-ups. Coaches voted him second-team all-conference after his junior year (76 tackles, 7.5 for loss, one interception, four pass break-ups) even though the Associated Press put him on their first-team All-American squad due to his all-around impact for the Tigers’ defense.”
