Joe Burrow is a popular guy in Baton Rouge these days, but it’s safe to say the former Ohio State quarterback never thought he’d end up at LSU.

Now, though, he’s led the Tigers to a 5-0 record, with two wins over top-10 teams already under his belt.

On Tuesday, Burrow joined 97.1 The Fan and discussed his former squad. As you can hear in this clip, he said he’d love to play the Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff:

“Absolutely, I would love to do that,” Burrow said. “It would be a little weird, playing everybody, but that would be pretty fun.”

As far as the rosters go, Burrow said he thinks the Buckeyes have a little bit more depth than the Tigers, but added that the Tigers have some room to improve:

“I would say Ohio State has a little more depth, but top to bottom it’s really close. My guys here are great, they’re really talented. We still haven’t played our best game yet, so once we start really clicking on all cylinders, we’re going to be good.”

Will the Tigers and Buckeyes actually both make it to the Playoff? That remains to be seen, but LSU can take another big step toward that goal with a win at Florida this weekend.
