Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals went into Baltimore on Sunday afternoon and handed the Ravens a brutal 41-17 loss.

The former LSU star has his Bengals with a 5-2 record, now tied with the Ravens atop the AFC North with the head-to-head victory in their pocket.

Burrow threw for 416 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Fellow ex-LSU star Ja’Marr Chase had 8 catches for 201 yards and a score.

So, why wasn’t Burrow fazed by the road environment in Baltimore? He told Peter King of NBC that the SEC stadiums he played in get way louder:

“We knew that they were gonna be jacked up for us to come in, and expecting to beat our ass. But we were ready for it,” Burrow said. “Playing in the SEC definitely, definitely helped. Gets way louder in the SEC than in any of these NFL stadiums.”

Many SEC stadiums are indeed bigger than NFL stadiums. And with rowdy, passionate fans down south, it comes as no surprise that road environments are more hostile in SEC territory.

Can Burrow and the Bengals continue their playoff push? They travel to New York to take on the Jets this coming Sunday. We’ll see if Burrow and Chase keep putting on a show for fans.
