Joel Klatt has weighed in on the future of LSU football, and the FOX Sports analyst raises an interesting question that will be bandied about in the coming weeks as LSU looks for a new football coach after it parted ways with Ed Orgeron.

“Those that point to @LSUfootball being a GREAT job point to the last three coaches winning National Titles,” Klatt tweeted. “…They’re right, you can win big at LSU. However, two of those three have been run out of town…So, is it a GREAT job? Yes! Is it an attractive destination?? don’t know!”

This raises the age-old point of there being plenty of talent in Louisiana, and in the greater Southeast region, but there’s also the daunting task of competing in the SEC West.

That makes the coaching search a smaller pool of qualified candidates who would be interested in the job.
