Lincoln Riley makes emphatic statement on LSU coaching job
Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma lost to Oklahoma State Saturday night 37-34, and with the loss, the Sooners Playoff hopes are officially dead.
Leading into Saturday, however, so much speculation surrounded Riley and the LSU job. The Tigers are still searching for their replacement for Ed Orgeron, and Riley was rumored to be in the mix for the vacant position or even the frontrunner.
However, Riley shot down the speculation during his post game press conference.

Where will LSU’s coaching search turn? The top candidates may be Louisiana’s Billy Napier and Iowa State’s Matt Campbell at this point. Jimbo Fisher is obviously still on the wish list, but he’s stated multiple times that he’s not going to LSU. LSU upset Fisher and Texas A&M Saturday night 27-24.
Kentucky’s Mark Stoops is also on the LSU coaching radar, too, and he’s been reported as the “fallback plan.”
