LSU coaching rumors: Dabo Swinney mentioned as candidate by CFB insider
There is evidently no ceiling to the LSU coaching search, and that includes a recent national championship-winning coach in Clemson’s Dabo Swinney.
Bruce Feldman of The Athletic and FOX Sports reported that Swinney is among the coaches who will be given strong consideration by Athletics Director Scott Woodward.
“That’s totally his (Woodward’s) M.O.— he’s gonna make him say no,” said a source to Feldman.
Swinney for years has been discussed as a possible successor to Nick Saban at Alabama, his alma mater, however the move to LSU seems to be more unlikely. Though Woodward has developed a reputation as an AD who hires prominent names, and this would certainly fit that description.
Bruce, as always, is on top of the #LSU coaching opening.
Some big details here, including Woodward already calling Jimbo Fisher and a potential attempt for Dabo Swinney… https://t.co/E2xP7fMOTf
