LSU fan reportedly pays astronomical figure for 50-yard line tickets to National Championship Game

The National Championship Game is set, and it will be a battle of the Tigers as LSU and Clemson face off in New Orleans for the College Football Playoff title.
With two potential No. 1 overall picks at quarterback for each team, and NFL talent dotting each side of the ball, it is sure to draw a huge television crowd and an electric atmosphere.
One fan already has their seats for the game, and they went big with an unbelievable price.
JUST IN: We already have an insane ticket sale to report. A fan has purchased seven tickets on the 50 in the lower level for the title game. The sale, on StubHub, is for tickets on the LSU side for a total of $54,407,50.

The purchase was likely made by an LSU fan, as they were purchased among the Tigers’ section. The game will be played approximately 80 miles from LSU’s campus in Baton Rouge, so expect LSU fans to come out in full force. While Rovell’s tweet claims the ticket is over $54 million dollars, odds are it was a typo that was intended to say $54,407.50.
While most fans probably won’t be dishing out over 54 million dollars to get into the game, prices will still be high for one of the best games of the year.
One of these two teams will finish 15-0 and as national champions and fans are already paying top dollar to see it in person.
